Fall, 2016 — As a last-minute addition to the list of exhibitors for Vancouver Placemaking Week, I was given the incredible opportunity to display a 25 by 25 foot (yes, you read that correctly!) art installation in the atrium of the historic Woodward’s Building. The intention behind the exhibit was to create something that would highlight the many positive aspects of living in Vancouver, and so, working 12-16 hours a day over three straight days, I created a massive neighbourhood map of of the city adorned with hundreds of pictographic elements ranging from simple trees and buses to iconic skyscrapers and landmarks. Printed at a vastly discounted rate in five 25-foot rolls by the always-helpful East Van Graphics, the map was installed overnight on the floor of the basketball court, where it remained for the rest of Placemaking Week.
Prints are available on my Etsy shop here.
